🛒 Trader Joe's Cut the Ribbon This Morning on El Dorado Parkway

McKinney's second Trader Joe's officially opened at 9:00am this morning, Thursday, May 7, after a brief ribbon-cutting by Store Captain Garth Olson and crew. The grand opening celebration includes samples, giveaways, and the kind of welcome-to-the-neighborhood energy that turns a grocery run into an event. The 9,593-square-foot store sits at 8101 El Dorado Parkway in the Eldorado Neighborhood Shops, on the west side of town near the Painted Tree corridor.

If you're hoping for a food court or restaurants, you're shopping at the wrong chain. According to a Trader Joe's spokesperson, "We are a neighborhood grocery store. There are no restaurants within our store. At Trader Joe's, you won't find a lot of branded items. Instead, you'll discover a store full of unique and interesting products, along with everyday basics, in the Trader Joe's label."

The location hired more than 40 new Crew Members from the surrounding area and transferred in another 30 from nearby stores, which is roughly a 70-person team running the floor on day one. Through the company's Neighborhood Shares Program, anything that goes unsold but is still good to eat will be donated to local food recovery agencies seven days a week.

Operating hours are 9:00am to 9:00pm daily. Expect the parking lot to be a scene through the weekend. If you're hoping for the cult-favorite seasonal items (everything bagel hummus, mini brie bites, cookie butter), go early. (Source: Trader Joe's PR)
