⌛MacTown History

💰The Bank That Built McKinney
Long before modern banks and apps, McKinney’s financial backbone was built on institutions like the Collin County National Bank, founded in 1883 by local business leaders. Backed by an initial $75,000 in capital (serious money back then), the bank quickly became a key player in funding farms, businesses, and growth across the area.
Originally located on the southeast corner of the downtown square, the bank grew alongside the city - moving locations as demand increased and eventually expanding into larger facilities. Its final iteration, Texas National Bank, closed in 2011 - today, the original site is home to McKinney City Hall.
