In this weekend’s What’s On McKinney: a jam-packed live music calendar, McKinney airport goes big, find your family roots with genealogy, a casino party, McKinney gets a new hospital, and more. Weekend plans: sorted →
McKinney Gets a New Hospital⚕️
Big healthcare news: Texas Health Resources is building a brand-new hospital and medical campus in north McKinney, near U.S. 75 and Laud Howell Parkway.
The nonprofit system plans to open the 51-acre campus in 2028, starting with 60 beds and room to expand to 120 as the area keeps growing. The facility will include a Women’s Services Center (labor & delivery + NICU), Emergency Department, surgical suites, cardiology, and advanced imaging - meaning families in north McKinney, Anna, Melissa and Princeton won’t have to drive as far for serious care.
With Collin County among the fastest-growing areas in the country, this is a clear bet on long-term growth. Translation: more emergency access, more specialty care, and fewer highway miles when it matters most. (Source: Texas Health Resources)
